Adam Wilde on Salisbury loss.
The Stags assistant boss Adam Wilde had a brief chat with Sean McGlead after yesterdays 2-0 defeat at Salisbury.
Well Adam what are your thoughts regarding the Salisbury game?
“It was always going to be tough, as we know they are one of the favorites to win our league. We huffed and we puffed a little bit. The first 25 minutes we were in the game, their first goal was a bit of a mistake on our part really. We have a tendency to gift our opponents. It was hard to go in at the break one down really.”
The sending off of Callum Chugg was a blow, Going down to 10 men made it difficult for us didn’t it?
“Yeah, When you come to a place like this and you go down to 10 men they are going to pass the ball and make you work so it was always going to be difficult from then on.”
“I have to say it was a bit of a soft sending off really, Chuggy has got caught out a little bit, the lads made an intelligent run across him and Chuggy has brushed his shoulder, he’s not held the shirt, he’s not pulled him back, the lads still got the shot in, but slipped down as he hit it. The referee has decided to give the penalty and send him off which i think was a little harsh.”
So we move on to the FA CUP now where we fave Frome Town away on Saturday any thoughts going into that one?
“I said to the lads after the game, we have got to take some positives from that today and we will go into the game on Saturday, still feeling we can get a result. They are a league higher so we will go there as underdogs, but we feel we can go there and get something.”
