AFC Totton V Eastleigh

Next up for the Stags is a home match with National League Eastleigh on Saturday (3pm).

Glenn Howes was very pleased with his sides showing against Portsmouth U23’s on Tuesday evening and he will be looking to his side to continue to perform to a high standard with the new season edging ever closer.

Eastleigh will of course provide the toughest test yet for the Stags, the Spitfires boss Ben Strevens has made some decent additions to his squad for 2020/21 with Keeper Joe McDonnell joining from Notts County, Striker Ben House joining from championship club Reading, Dan Smith came in from Bognor Regis Town, Abdulai Baggie joined from Weymouth,Full back Joe Tomlinson joined from Hugerford Town and Northern Ireland U21 international Pierce Bird also joined the Spitfires from Notts County.

There are of course some Totton connections in the Eastleigh squad. Brilliant left back Michael Green was of course part of Stuart Ritchie’s Div One S&W Championship winning side of 2010/11. Totton lad Ben Scorey is a very promising left back, who spent some time on loan with the Stags under Louis Langdown, as did strikers Tom Bearwish and Lewis Beale. So Saturdays encounter looks a very attractive fixture for those fortunate enough to have tickets.
