AFC Totton v Frome Town – Preview

AFC Totton v Frome Town – Preview

AFC Totton take a break from league action this weekend when they entertain Frome Town at the Snows Stadium (3pm).

The Stags will be taking the FA Trophy seriously, it’s the 2nd biggest cup competition for clubs at our level and there is prize money at stake for getting through each round. If you get through a few rounds you could end up playing a National League side, so there are plenty of incentives there for us to try and progress as far as we can in the Competition.

It will be interesting to see if Totton boss Glenn Howes will make any changes, following last weekends excellent 3-0 win over Bristol Manor Farm. Howes will have at least one enforced change to make after striker Brett Williams picked up a shoulder injury during that victory.

Our visitors Frome are in our Division, and the Robins are one of the fancied sides in Div One (South) this season. Danny Greaves has an experienced squad at his disposal and he has one of the most gifted players in the Southern League in his squad and that is of course former Stag Jonathon Davies. The Stags found out 1st hand that Davies has lost none of that magic after he scored a hat-trick against us in a 3-0 win for the Robins at the Badgers hill Stadium back in  February. That win for Frome made it a double over the Stags after they won 3-2 at the Snows Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Our overall record with Frome reads…

P13 W5 D2 L6 F18 A22

One thing is for sure it promises to be a very good game and you can see it by buying tickets in advance here…….

Tickets will also be available at reception on the day PROVIDING the club does not sell all of the tickets online. With our last two crowds being 368 v Winchester City and 375 v Bristol Manor Farm   we are getting close to the capacity set by the Covid regulations (400). It may be sensible to buy your tickets in advance.
