Frome Town v AFC Totton – Preview

Frome Town v AFC Totton – Preview

Tomorrow evening AFC Totton travel to Somerset to face Frome Town for the last of their four consecutive Southern League Division One (South) away fixtures. Due to the 2nd lockdown being announced, this will be the last Totton game for at least a month and I am sure Glenn Howes and his squad would like to go into the enforced break with another positive result. The first three of these four away games have seen the Stags win at Larkhall Athletic, Basingstoke Town and Thatcham Town, that is an impressive trio of away victories.

We all know that Frome Town will offer the Stags a really tough test on Tuesday evening, they sit 9th in the current table, but they have two games in hand on many of the clubs in the League, I fully expect the Robins to be in mix at the top end of the table come the end of the season. When I did the Preview of our FA Trophy game with the Robins a few weeks ago I mentioned that Frome possess some talented individuals. With Jono Davies and Kane Simpson they possess the ability to unlock most defences,  Jono was of course a big favourite at AFC Totton between 2009 and 2013 and he showed us yet again that he is still a hugely talented individual. The free kick that Jono scored against us in that FA Trophy game was straight from the top drawer. Let’s hope the Stags can keep him and the other Robins threats nice and quiet at the Robins nest on Tuesday evening.

You can get updates during the game from the Stags official twitter account. If you can get along to support the boys that would be great, Frome is only an hour or so away and it will be the last game you can attend for at least one month.
