Louis Langdown’s views on Fleet Town replay win.

Louis Langdown’s views on Fleet Town replay win.

Louis Langdown’s gave his views post Fleet Town FA Cup win to Sean McGlead……….

Louis what are your thoughts after a tremendous 5-0 win over Fleet Town in this FA Cup replay?

“That is as complete a performance as I have seen since I’ve been here. I am really chuffed with the lads, they have put on an excellent showing.’’

Fleet caused us some problems up at their place on Saturday So did you expect to win so comfortably this evening?

“We said it would be a difficult game at Fleet, and it was, we had to dig deep at their place on their pitch but our groundsman Ken & the rest of the ground staff have given us a great pitch tonight. We passed it around and to be honest with you it could have been ten! “

As you say the victory could have been by many more, the lads seemed up for it from the off

“The application from minute one, till the game finished was brilliant. There were some great passing moves and it was great to see goals, five goals in any game is good and I think all of our goals were team goals really, they were not individual goals, there was some great link up play and some great finishes too. Lets not forget the defenders, the back five was superb, it was great for them to keep a clean sheet, they defended very well as a unit”.

As you say we scored five goals and they were all from different players, that must also please you?

“One or two of those five thought they may get two or three tonight after their performances, so it is good that we are sharing the goals around. I am really pleased for Curtis (Young) because at Fleet on Saturday it was difficult for him, it wasn’t the Curtis we know, So, we challenged him tonight and boy did he come up trumps! He was excellent. The all round performance by the team was excellent, I can’t fault anybody tonight.’’

Myself and a couple of others went through the team sheet after the game and marked our players out of ten and nobody was below a seven, that’s for sure. Do you agree?

“SEVEN???? How many 5-0 wins have you seen Sean? Lol There were quite a few nines and a few tens out tonight!’’

You are probably right Louis. Curtis was named ‘man of the match’ tonight’ by our club sponsors Picador Renault, but it wasn’t just Curtis who had a great game it was Toby (Adekunle), Charlie (Gunson), Pip (Nolan) and our defenders, Do you agree?

“Yes, as we have already said Curtis was excellent, we asked him to score a goal and he did! So we will be asking him to do it again on Saturday! In fact, all of the players are doing what we asked of them and I am really chuffed with that, they are really coming up trumps for us.’’

Yes, they are Louis I agree with that, it was an enjoyable evening. Well done to you and the players!
