STAGS STREAK CONTINUES IN BUCKINGHAMSHIRE

AFC Totton made it four wins on the bounce in Buckinghamshire, as the Stags ran out 2-0 winners away to Beaconsfield Town.

The best opportunity of the first half fell to the hosts, as Zidan Akers was set through on goal on the right-hand side, only for Lewis Noice to thwart the striker and turn the ball behind for a corner.

James Dobson was cautioned for a robust challenge on Leon Maloney before the referee signalled for half-time.

Totton went through the gears immediately in the second half, taking just seven minutes to break the deadlock.

Leon Maloney sliced an inch-perfect pass into the path of Joe TURNER who nonchalantly dinked the ball over the goalkeeper into the far corner.

It went from bad to worse for the Rams; James Dobson dragging Leon Maloney to the deck for a second time leaving the referee no choice but to issue him a second yellow card and thus, giving him the marching orders.

The Stags took advantage of the situation almost immediately, with Joe TURNER both his and Totton's tally with another cool finish.

The forward, who now has five goals in four appearances, latched onto a brilliant through pass from Luke Bennett and placed his strike across the 'keeper and into the bottom corner.

The win takes Totton into the play-off places, fifth in the table, before they host Downton on Wednesday evening in the Southampton Senior Cup.
