SPLENDID STAGS SCRAPE PAST 9-MAN BERKHAMSTED

AFC Totton progressed into the next round of the FA Trophy after a tight 2-1 victory against Berkhamsted FC.

Jordan Ragguette magnificently opened the scoring in the 18th minute with a rifling 22-yard strike beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Jonathan Lacey cancelled out the full-back’s goal from the penalty spot, converting after Charlie Kennedy’s mistimed challenge.

In a game riddled with cards, Jack Tompkins and Ben Walster were sent off for the visitors for second bookable offences either side of half-time.

As Totton probed, Jake Adams made the difference with a well-taken 86th minute goal to send the Stags through.

The draw for the third qualifying round will be made on Monday.
