STAGS EDGE ROBINS IN NON-LEAGUE CLASSIC

Fresh off the back of a 5-0 home victory against Tiverton Town on Saturday, AFC Totton narrowly defeated Bracknell Town in an enthralling game at the Snows Stadium.

It was an even opening to the game, with little between the two sides who were both in the hunt to secure play-off spots. The first chance of the game fell to Inform Stags striker Tony Lee who couldn’t capitalise.

LEE broke the deadlock in the 39th minute from close range, firing home after a superb knock down from strike partner Scott Rendell.

Less than five minutes into the second half, the visitors pulled level through a powerful shot from Jordan ESPIRIT, piledriving Gould into the bottom right.

The Stags were back in front on the hour mark after Ethan TAYLOR reacted first to a loose ball in the area, making no mistake when slotting home.

Jimmy Ball rolled the dice first, making a double substitution in the search of a fresh burst of energy.

Minutes later Bracknell were back level after Great EVANS converted a powerful low cross into the roof of the net from the right flank.

Totton bounced back again though, as Marcel McIntosh drove down the right-hand side squaring the ball into Tony LEE who made no mistake slotting him his second and Totton’s third of the game.

Tonight’s fifth win in six games for the Stags saw them move into third place, officially confirming a play-off place.
