STAGS RESTART TITLE CHARGE

AFC Totton put themselves back in title contention with a 2-0 win at promotion rivals Frome Town.

The hosts started quickly before Totton won a succession of corners, and captain Harry MEDWAY took advantage with a towering header. Jonathan Davies was a constant threat for the Robins, but they couldn’t find a way through, and the first half finished 1-0. Frome were strong at the start of the second half too, as Lewis Noice saved smartly from Davies, before Ethan Taylor hit the bar for the visitors. A clumsy challenge on Sam Griffin gave the Stags a 70th minute penalty that Hisham KASIMU belted home for 2-0, with Totton holding firm for a hard-fought victory.
