SUPER STAGS WIN EIGHT GOAL THRILLER

AFC Totton won a wild game against Hanwell Town with a 5-3 final scoreline.

The hosts were lively from the off, and Jordan Ragguette slipped through Alfie Stanley, who was tripped by the goalkeeper for a home penalty. SCOTT RENDELL stepped up and gave the hosts the lead. Hanwell hit back out of nowhere, with SAMUEL EVANS blasting home after a lightning counter attack. Totton upped the ante again to score two in as many minutes just before half-time - ALFIE STANLEY scoring a deserved strike before he set up MATTY BURROWS for the Stags’ third.

The second half had a more subdued start, but the visitors got themselves back into the game when EVANS latched onto a long ball, finishing for his second of the afternoon. Totton were unperturbed, however, and restored their two-goal advantage when Ethan Taylor’s drilled cross found BURROWS, who couldn’t miss from close range. The home fans would have been forgiven for thinking the three points were wrapped up, but Hanwell again pulled one back when ELLIOT BENYON headed in at the back post as the ninety minutes expired. The Geordies piled forward in search of an unlikely equaliser, but this left space in behind for Ethan Taylor to charge into, and his delivery teed up BURROWS to complete his hat-trick and finally seal the victory.
