SHOLING PREVAIL IN FROSTY DERBY ENCOUNTER
Sholing beat AFC Totton 1-0 in a game with plenty of intrigue, with the fierce local rivals occupying the top two places in the league.
Totton nearly took an early lead, only for home goalkeeper Ryan Gosney to make an amazing save from a deflected shot.
The hosts took the lead against the run of play, Marv McLean playing in Lee Wort, whose airshot fell fortuitously for Brad TARGETT to smash home.
From there the visitors dominated the ball, and had a penalty shout turned down shortly after half-time when Gosney was adjudged not to have brought down Taylor.
The Stags piled on the pressure but Gosney and the home defence held firm, and saw out a gritty victory.
