On a frigid January evening, Sholing won local bragging rights as they defeated locals rivals AFC Totton 2-1.

The first half was cagey, with both sides limited to half chances, as they went into the break goalless.

The game sparked into life in the second half, Hisham Kasimu scything through Sholing’s defence before his effort on goal was stabbed home by Ethan TAYLOR. The home side who were level soon after through a rasping drive from Stuart GREEN. Late on, the Boatmen won a free kick on the edge of the area, and Daniel MASON curled home to a sublime effort.

Sholing defended resolutely to take home the three points, denting their fierce rival’s promotion hopes in the process.
