STAGS DOWN SWANS IN SHOOT-OUT

AFC Totton advanced to the next round of the Isuzu FA Trophy with a 7-6 penalty victory over Slimbridge AFC.

The hosts dominated the first half, and were rewarded for their efforts on the stroke of half-time as ETHAN TAYLOR slotted home from Brett Williams’ knockdown.

Slimbridge equalised against the run of play as EDJI MBUNGA netted from the penalty spot, and though the Stags nearly won in the 90 it ended in a penalty shoot-out.

Twice Totton could have won it but couldn’t score, before home ‘keeper Lewis Noice saved the Swans’ ninth penalty from Jacob Geddes, and Jireh Oyebamiji converted to send the home fans into raptures.

Berkhamsted await AFC Totton in the Second Round Qualifying.
