STUBBORN STAGS SEE OFF WESTBURY

AFC Totton continued their long unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory at Westbury United.

On a cold afternoon Scott RENDELL opened the scoring, turning a rebound home after Ethan Taylor saw his shot saved.

Westbury came out strongly for the second half, a free-kick ricocheting off the angle of post and bar, but the Stags doubled their advantage, RENDELL bagging his second from the spot.

The hosts pulled one back through Stephen HULBERT, also from the penalty spot, to set up a nervy final fifteen minutes.

Rendell had the chance to complete his hat-trick in stoppage time, but could only fire his penalty against the post, as the Stags held on for another vital three points.
