SECOND-HALF SURGE EARNS STAGS A POINT

AFC Totton and Winchester City played out a feisty 1-1 draw at the Snows Stadium.

Winchester started off the game the better side and remained a constant threat but Totton grew into the game around the 20th minute.

Crosses from Maloney and fantastic tackles from Oastler meant they were doing everything right. All they needed to do was score.

Rendell was singled out in the first half due to the lack of accurate crosses however he tried making his large presence known by trying to drop slightly deeper.

The first-half came to an end and it was a surprise it was goalless.

Start of the second half and it did not disappoint, with back and forth chances resuming.

However, after 53 minutes, Winchester's Daniel JONES took a touch to set himself free and beautifully chip it over Lewis Noice to make it 1-0.

With nothing much happening except for more fouls and substitutions, Totton realised time was against their side, an initial warning was sent to the defence of Winchester with a Rendell header just going wide.

Just six minutes later they were made to pay, with a powerful direct header into the right hand side. Scott RENDELL had done his job again and saved the day.

The Stags are in action again this Tuesday evening, when they host Hayes & Yeading United, whilst Winchester are at home to Swindon Supermaine.
