Murphy says farewell to the Stags + Trio sign new deals
AFC Totton’s goalkeeper Shane Murphy has left the club after two seasons with the Stags. Shane, a former AFC Bournemouth trainee, was superb for us in his 1st season at the Testwood Community Stadium and he deservedly picked up the clubs official player of the season for 2017/18.
In his 2nd season Shane suffered a fractured skull in a Hampshire senior cup tie v Horndean and he ended up missing a fair chunk of 2018/19 as a result. Shane did brilliantly well to return from such an horrific injury and it shows the character of the man that he was able to come back into the side for the last couple of months and show how good a keeper he is.
I am sure everybody will join me in wishing Shane all the best for the future.
Shane left a message for everybody at AFC Totton on his personal twitter account earlier this evening and it said….
Feeney, Masterton & Smith committ for 2019/20
Some good news for Stags fans is that manager Louis Langdown has managed to secure deals for the spine of his side for next season. Striker Craig Feeney who bagged 23 goals last term has committed for 2019/20, as has talented midfielder Jack Masterton, Centre half Jack Smith, who was excellent last term, has also penned a deal for the 2019/20 season.
