Stags to be 1st opponents for Basingstoke Town’s return to the Town.
AFC Totton will be the 1st club to play against Basingstoke Town at the Winklebury Football Complex, after they were today given the green light by the Southern League Ground grading to return to their home town to play home matches.

Basingstoke have had some tough times in recent years, after being forced to leave their iconic Camrose ground, following their former owner attempting to sell the ground for development. Since 2019 The Dragons have been playing at Winchester City’s Simply Health City Ground.
The Basingstoke Town website said ……
‘We’d like to thank everyone who has made this possible and to our fans for the patience and support they have shown in getting us back to our town’.
‘It’s been a long and sometimes frustrating process however playing back in the town is a huge step for the club’s survival which will allow us to build stepping-stones to establish a brighter future’.
The Stags fixture at Winklebury v Basingstoke Town will take place on Saturday 24th October (3pm)
