Experienced, all-action box-to-box midfielder who announced himself to the AFC Totton faithful with an injury-time winner against Evesham United on his debut in early-November 2022.
Charlie was in the AFC Bournemouth Academy for three years until he turned 18, when he took the opportunity for a trial with Cadiz CF in Andalusia, Spain. He played for the B team of Los Piratas (The Pirates) for six months before returning to England with his hometown club Poole Town, with whom he won the Dorset Senior Cup and the Southern League Cup.
The 27 year-old has also featured for Dorchester Town, Weymouth, Gosport Borough and Salisbury, and lists Charlie Kennedy, Yemi Odubade and Mike Carter among his former teammates, who encouraged Manager Jimmy Ball to look into the possibility of bringing him to the Snows Stadium.
Quite apart from his debut goal, Charlie has settled seamlessly into Totton's midfield where he has proven himself to be a consistently hard-working player with considerable quality on the ball. Has occasionally slotted into the right-back position, where he often operated for Salisbury.
A strong proponent of the knee-slide goal celebration, Charlie was voted Media Player of the Year 2022/23 by the contributors to StagsRadio and the Matchday Programme.
