An AFC Bournemouth Academy graduate who went on to make four league appearances for The Cherries during a five-year stint when he also enjoyed loan spells at four different clubs, including Torquay United.
Josh is a tall, strong holding midfielder with the ability to pass the ball from deep positions. Despite having been born on the south coast of England, he qualifies to represent Scotland through his paternal grandfather, and he has been capped by The Tartan Army at both U16 and U19 levels.
After being released by Bournemouth in July 2016, he returned to one of his loan clubs, Gosport Borough, on a permanent deal, before joining Weymouth the following summer where he remained for two seasons, racking up a total of 79 league appearances with 4 goals.
He was at his hometown club Poole Town throughout the COVID-19 affected era in which non-league football all but ground to a halt. In the summer of 2022, he joined Salisbury and was playing regularly for The Whites until a change of management led to him becoming the odd man out.
When he was told that he could speak to other clubs, he alerted his good friend and close neighbour Charlie Davis who had been keeping him up-to-date about life at AFC Totton since his own arrival at the club - leading to Josh becoming a Stag in time to make his debut at home to Bashley at the beginning of March 2023, scoring his first goal for the club in the next match, an 8-1 mauling of Bideford AFC.
