A young wing wizard who originally came to the Snows Stadium on loan from National League South side Weymouth.

Matty originally caught the eye with a number of impressive displays for Balti Sports in the Dorset Premier League, earning himself a move to Portland United in the Wessex League Premier Division.

Sheffield-born Burrows continued to perform well, persuading Weymouth to take him to the Bob Lucas Stadium where he was incorporated into their youth ranks, playing for The Terras' U19s and U23 side.

He regularly featured on the Weymouth substitutes bench in the early part of the 2022/23 campaign, before coming to Totton on loan in mid-November. He scored on his debut at home to Westbury United, and bagged four goals in the 6-1 home win over Tavistock AFC a fortnight later.

Such impressive form began to attract the interest of other clubs higher up the English Football Pyramid, prompting the AFC Totton Board to react quickly by agreeing a permanent transfer with Weymouth for an undisclosed fee. Burrows celebrated by scoring the only goal of the game at home to Willand Rovers and his strike against Lymington Town on Boxing Day was his eighth goal in as many starts for the club.

A skilful, fast, direct and exciting player who can create chances as well as get on the end of them, Matty had a positive impact upon The Stags' 2022/23 campaign. Injury has limited his participation throughout the 2023/24 season, his last-gasp wonderstrike at Walton & Hersham on New Year's Day notwithstanding. He is currently on loan at Southern League Division One South promotion-chasing Wimborne Town.
