Team Solent 2-0 AFC Totton

Team Solent started stronger and came close to scoring after just 5 minutes when a shot from inside the box hit the Totton post. Two minutes later Solent did take the lead when a cross from the right was headed home past keeper Mitchell Jackson.

Totton responded well and came close to equalising on 21 minutes from a corner. Harry Edmondson picked out Ben Pike, who headed back across goal to Matt Wotton and his header was scrambled away.

On 35 minutes Solent broke forward and were about to shoot inside the box but were denied by a great tackle from Ben Pike. Totton almost scored an equaliser after 40 minutes when Harry Edmondson fed Matt Wotton. He ran on and crossed for Josh Carey, but his header was pushed away for a corner.

On 44 minutes, Dominic Kay ran forward from midfield, threading the ball to Matt Wotton. His shot from the edge of the box was blocked and fell to Harry Edmondson who fired over the bar. Just before the break, Solent were denied a second goal following a fine save low down by Mitchell Jackson.

After 49 minutes Aaron McKeown’s ball forward was flicked on by Harry Edmondson to Jack Diaper, who shot just over the bar from the edge of the box. On 52 minutes Totton won a corner and James Matthews saw his dangerous ball in, headed behind from underneath the crossbar.

On 55 minutes, James Matthews tore down the right wing and his cross just eluded Matt Wotton running in at the far post. After 57 minutes Aaron McKeown crossed to Josh Carey, but his header was saved by the Solent keeper.

Solent then had two very good chances in the space of 5 minutes, but both efforts went over the Totton bar. After 73 minutes, Solent made it 2-0 following an attack down the right. The ball was played inside the area and fired past Mitchell Jackson from 12 yards. After 78 minutes Totton were awarded a free kick, but Matt Wotton hit his 25 yard shot straight at the keeper.

Minutes later a flowing move involving James Matthews & Matt Wotton ended with Jack Diaper seeing his shot blocked just inside the area. On 82 minutes a James Matthews corner to the far post was headed out to Dominic Kay who fired over the bar.
