Brockenhurst 2-2 AFC Totton
The young Stags took a well-deserved point against the Badgers this afternoon, having played most of the game with only 10 men. Totton began well and after 10 minutes created a good chance when Matt Wotton played the ball through to Shahram Jalal, who ran inside the box but shot just wide.
With 20 minutes gone & with only 11 fit players available for the game, Totton were reduced to 10 men when Matt Wotton went off with a hamstring injury. Totton continued to move the ball around creating space and after 27 minutes Connor Stevens played in James Matthews, but his shot from the right side of the box went over the bar.
Minutes later, Mitchell Jackson made a good save low down following a Brockenhurst attack down the right. On 32 minutes Brockenhurst took the lead when a defence splitting pass allowed a player to run on and knock the ball past the advancing keeper.
After 35 minutes Totton equalised when a free kick from Connor Stevens was headed back across goal by Sam Muddiman to James Matthews, who fired past the keeper to make it 1-1. In first half stoppage time Brockenhurst regained the lead following a shot from 20 yards out.

Totton created an early chance just after the restart when Connor Stevens picked out James Matthews halfway inside the Brockenhurst half. His through ball allowed Shahram Jalal to run on, but he shot wide from 20 yards out.
On 53 minutes Totton again went close when Connor Stevens picked out Sam Muddiman 25 yards out, but his shot was saved by the keeper. Despite only 10 men, Totton continued to work hard and won a corner on 58 minutes. The resulting kick from James Matthews picked out Jack Diaper at the near post, but his goal bound header was cleared off the line.
After 78 minutes a quick throw from Marco Gashi allowed James Matthews to race to the by-line and cross to Jack Diaper, who turned it just wide at the far post under pressure from a defender.
With 10 minutes remaining Brockenhurst were denied a clear shot on goal by a great tackle from Patryk Lachowicz just inside the penalty area. On 85 minutes Marco Gashi released James Matthews down the right. He crossed to Conner Stevens, who from 8 yards out saw his header saved by the keeper.
With 2 minutes remaining the hard working Totton deservedly equalised. Jack Diaper ran through the middle of the park and released James Matthews down the right, who cut the ball back to Connor Stevens to slot the ball home from 10 yards out.
