WAYNE SHAW BECOMES THE STAGS NEW COMMERCIAL MANAGER!
WAYNE IS AIMING ‘PIE HIGH’ ON THE COMMERCIAL SIDE!
AFC Totton are delighted to announce that local, national and international celebrity Wayne Shaw has joined the Stags as our new Commercial manager.
The club is already well on its way to strengthening the playing side for 2017/18 with manager Louis Langdown having already added some quality signings.
However, Chairman Wayne Mew and Vice Chairman Dave Penny have made a huge signing of their own by getting Wayne Shaw in on the commercial side.
We believe having Wayne on board will help this wonderful football club take a huge step towards realising its undoubted potential. Wayne has the bubbly personality and he is a Totton lad, so if anybody can make this a success of this role then it will be Wayne Shaw.
Wayne became affectionately known as ‘The Roly poly Goalie’ on the non-league circuit during his career because of his large frame. When Wayne was pictured on the bench by TV cameras during Sutton United’s 1-0 win over Leeds United in the FA Cup 4th round, many TV interviews followed in the UK and abroad, especially after Sutton were drawn against the mighty Arsenal in the FA Cup 5th round.
However, not even Wayne could be prepared for what followed. Shaw’s popularity went through the roof when he made the national and international headlines for eating a pasty during Sutton United’s live televised FA Cup tie against Premier League Arsenal.
Wayne not only became front page news because of this, but he was in demand for TV interviews across the globe. Not bad for a lad born in Millbrook and living in Totton!
We are proud to have Wayne on board and we wish him every success in his role as AFC Totton’s commercial manager.
