Our walking football group meets every Tuesday and Friday morning, 10:00–11:30, on the enclosed all-weather MUGA at the Snows Stadium. The session is aimed at the over-50s but is open to all — most of the group are in their late 60s to mid 70s, and new faces are always welcome.
The rules keep it safe and social: no running, no physical contact, ball below head height, no heading, no slide tackles — and shin pads on. The benefits go well beyond fitness: regular exercise, new friendships and a reason to get out of the house twice a week.
The group even includes a piece of football history — Louise Gardner, one of the “Lost Lionesses”, who played for Southampton Ladies and represented England at the first Women’s World Cup in Mexico in 1971.

On the all-weather MUGA at the Snows Stadium — just turn up with shin pads and trainers.
Our Pan Disability team is run in partnership with Dimensions, the not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. The team plays in the Pan Disability League — founded by the Saints Foundation and run this season by Eastleigh FC — where teams are graded by disability level so everyone competes on a fair footing.
Matchdays are monthly, with three matches per matchday and eighteen competitive games across the six-month season. Training is every Wednesday at 10:00am on the MUGA at the Snows Stadium.
The programme is run by Ian Knight and Gillian Cousins of Dimensions alongside Dave Penny, the club’s Vice-Chairman and Community Manager.
Get involvedThe Snows Stadium is also a home for the professional game: Southampton FC B play their Premier League 2 home fixtures here, and Southampton FC Women call the Snows home in the FA Women’s National League — bringing the next generation of Saints, and some of the best women’s football in the region, to Totton.
