Following a very well attended and popular charity match last May at the Snows Stadium, an AFC Totton Sponsors & Celebrities side took on the legendary Ex Saints. The match raised over £10,000, with the Ex Saints Southampton School's Charities and AFC Totton’s charity partner for the game, Mountbatten Hampshire sharing over £5,000 each.
We were delighted to receive this from Mountbatten Hampshire.
“Thank you to AFC Totton for kindly supporting Mountbatten Hampshire recently at the Ex Saints vs AFC Totton sponsors and celebrities event on the 21st May.
An amazing £5,158 was kindly fundraised from the evening. Thank you.
The weather was not on our side that day, but we were truly thankful to the community and supporters who attended and kindly donated to the charity.
Several attendees approached our staff and volunteers and shared their stories how Mountbatten Hampshire has supported them and their family and friends and generously donated.
The money raised will go towards making sure patients and their families have access to skilled, compassionate and sensitive care in a place of their choice across Southampton and west Hampshire.
This can include providing specialist end-of-life care to patients with life-limiting illness in their home or in our inpatient unit and day centre. We also support patients’ families, friends and carers through their illness and bereavement. Each year we help over 3,000 local people who need us, and demand for our services is continually growing.
As an independent charity, providing free services to everyone, every donation makes a real impact to local people.
Thank you for your support.
Liz Arnold
Director of Nursing”
