AFC Totton AFC Totton Pitching In - Partners with Southern Football League

The Stags face another tough Pre-Season fixture at the Snows Stadium this evening when they entertain newly promoted Weymouth (7.30pm). in another attractive looking fixture.

It wasn’t that many years ago when the Stags were playing Weymouth in Division One South & West. The Terras endured some lean years after some financial problems, falling from the Conference Prem down to Step 4 of the Non League Pyramid. However, the Terras and their large supporter base are back to where they belong after they were promoted via the play offs from National League South.

Weymouth have an interim manager in Bradley Asagba following the departure of Mark Molesley and his assistant Tom Prodomo, who took up the reigns at League One Southend United early last month. Molesley was the man who masterminded the rise  of the Terras leading them to two consecutive Promotions.

The Terras have been busy bringing in new faces to further strengthen their squad for their return to Non Leagues top flight. Weymouth have added Brazillian Winger Alefe Santos from Aldershot Town, Cody Cooke from St Mirren, Shaun Hobson (long term loan) from AFC Bournemouth and Myles Anderson from Hartlepool United.

As for the Stags, manager Glenn Howes is looking to his side to put in another decent showing this evening. The Totton players have had a really tough Pre Season in terms of the quality of opponents they have faced. The real positive for the Totton players is that they have done pretty well against sides from two and three Divisions above.
