Totton continued their Pre Season preparations with a hard-fought game against a very good Weymouth side at the Snows Stadium this evening.
AFC Totton gave a debut to Jay Emmanuel-Thomas for this evenings game and Thomas showed some class touches early on.
The all important goal came in the 2nd half from the lively Malachi Linton!
LINTON was just inside the 18 yard box on the right and despite the close attentions of a Weymouth defender, he managed to fire low into the bottom left hand corner of the net.
The Stags goalkeeper Ryan Gosney made a stupendous save to deny Brandon Goodship in the 1st half, pushing his effort onto the crossbar from point blank range.
Tony Lee also glanced a header onto the post for the Stags just prior to Lintons winner.
FULL TIME: AFC TOTTON 1 WEYMOUTH 0
This was a really entertaining game and Weymouth can count themselves unfortunate not to have grabbed a draw. There was lots of good interplay from the Stags and I am sure Jimmy Ball will be reasonably happy with what he saw.
