At the members meeting last night (3 April 2014) a full presentation was given by the Executive to the members on the latest position of the club in respect of its outstanding debts.
Members were made aware that there had been approaches to the club by two separate consortiums. The two offers and their implications were explained in full to the membership; both offers would mean that the ground would be sold to one of the consortiums but the football club would continue as a members club playing at the Testwood Stadium.
In a secret ballot the members agreed unanimously to the sale of the ground to clear the football clubs debts.
Members were made aware of the details of the two offers and while agreeing that the Executive should complete the negotiations at the earliest opportunity, they also made it clear to the Executive which option that they should concentrate on as their preferred option.
The Executive have taken on board the member’s wishes and will look to continue the negotiations over the coming days with a view to completing the deal at the earliest possible time.
A further statement will be made once the negotiations are complete.
