We are pleased to announce the loan signing of forward, Sam Ashford from Woking on a deal until January!
Since leaving the youth ranks of Tottenham Hotspur, Sam has carved out a remarkable journey through the English non-league and into professional football.
He’s represented no fewer than a dozen clubs, from Maldon & Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts, through Stansted FC (where he scored 21 goals in 59 appearances), Witham Town, Brightlingsea Regent, East Thurrock United, Concord Rangers and Hemel Hempstead Town, before stepping up to the Football League with Crawley Town in 2020.
During his time at Crawley, he enjoyed a loan spell with Woking, impressing by scoring four times in 14 appearances. He later plied his trade in Scotland with Ayr United, and then for Cliftonville FC, where he played a key role in their Irish Cup-winning campaign.
Most recently, Sam spent 2024–2025 with Wealdstone FC, continuing to prove his consistency at National League level and he returned to Woking at the start of this campaign for an undisclosed fee.
As part of the loan agreement, Sam will not be able to play against Woking in our FA Trophy third round tie at the Laithwaite Community Stadium on Saturday 13th December.
Welcome to the Club Sam, we hope you enjoy!
