The Stags game at Southern Premier (South) outfit Weston Super Mare ended all square at the optima Stadium this afternoon.

The home side were quick out of the blocks scoring in the 1st minute when Nick McCootie set up Chris Knowles whose deflected shot beat Noice.

Totton created a couple of openings with Craig Feeney’s effort wide  and Ethan Taylor having a shot just wide on 18 minutes.

Totton keeper Lewis Noice had to make a save from Mike Symons whilst Dayle Grubb  had a shot just wide for WSM.

WSM’s keeper Luke Purnell made a double save to deny the Stags whilst Taylor pulled another save from Weston’s keeper and Feeney likewise.

WSM’s McCootie had a deflected shot at goal just before the break but Noice was able to make the save.

Totton made six changes for the 2nd half. Brett Williams, Craig Feeney, Ethan Taylor, Jack Masterton, Mitchell Byrne and Lewis Noice were replaced by Sam Griffin, Hisham Kasimu, Liam Robinson, Adam Tomasso, Robin Nicholls and Aman.

In the 52nd minute a loose back pass by WSM’s Greg Tindle allowed Hisham KASIMU to nip in and round the keeper to make it 1-1.

The home side had a half chance when McCootie’s cross was almost met by Jacob Cane.

WSM made a number of substitutions with around 20 minutes to go. Callum Eastwood poked an effort straight at Aman, then Eastwood pulled a better save from the Stags Polish keeper. Then Ryan Jones had a long range shot just over in the closing moments

This was a very good effort from Glenn Howes new look side against quality opposition.
