AFC Totton v Banbury United Preview
This Saturday the Stags play host to Banbury United at the Testwood Stadium in their latest Evo-Stik league (Southern) South & West fixture. The Puritans come into tomorrow’s game on the back of an excellent 1-1 draw at table toppers North Leigh.
Banbury were relegated from the Southern Premier last season but the ‘fan owned’ Oxfordshire club have stabilised pretty well, and they currently sit in 9th position in the table, having Won Four, Drawn Six and Lost Two of their twelve league games.
The Stags should be feeling good about themselves after their 7-2 home win over Bashley in the Red Insure Cup last Tuesday. New duel signing Tony Lee made a huge impression after netting a hat trick on his debut, whilst Nick Watts also netted a hat-trick, which was a great boost for the Stags winger having only recently returned from injury. Taylor Edwards also get onto the scoresheet.
The last meeting between the Stags and Banbury at the Testwood Stadium ended 3-1 to the Puritans, with Ryan Hill scoring the Stags only goal.
