AFC Totton v Bashley Preview
This Tuesday evening 29th September the Stags entertain their new forest neighbours Bashley at The Testwood Stadium (7.45pm).
To add a bit of spice to this derby the Bash are managed by ex Stags boss Steve Riley. This will be the first time Riley would have come back to The Testwood Stadium since his departure in March.
Bashley have had a disappointing start to the season having lost all nine of their league games so far. However, you can bet your bottom dollar Bashley will be fired up for this game with local pride at stake plus the fact that Steve Riley will be desperate to get one over his old club.
The Stags will also be fired up for the game as well after the 3-0 loss at Cinderford Town last Saturday. The Stags never really got going in the first half and as a result they left themselves with to much to do in the second half. Make no mistake though Cinderford are a very decent side and I fully expect them to be in the play offs at least come the end of the season.
Manager Steve Hollicks still has one or two injuries to contend with. Luke Watts was still not quite ready to be in the squad for the Cinderford game and ditto Mark Lilley who has a groin problem which will keep him out of the Bashley game.
In last seasons corresponding game the Stags won 4-0 with all of their goals coming in the second half from Billy Lowes, Nathaniel Sherborne, Zac Mouland and Joe Maxwell.
