AFC Totton v Yate Town preview
This Saturday AFC Totton will entertain Yate Town in their latest Evo-Stik Southern League Division One (S&W) fixture at the Testwood Stadium 3pm.
The corresponding fixture last season finished AFC Totton 1 Yate Town 3. Nathaniel Sherborne scored the Totton goal. Yate were probably one of the best sides seen at the Testwood Stadium last season, I know many of our fans were impressed with them after that game. This season the Bluebells are sat in mid table, with two wins, two draws and two defeats so far. They have scored nine and conceded seven.
The Stags winless start to the season will give this game a bit more importance than would normally be the case at this early stage of the season. The players and the management will be even more determined to see us get that first win on saturday after the disappointing start to the campaign.
Totton’s last game at high flying Winchester City epitomised the season so far with the Stags being punished for early mistakes that they made in the first 20 minutes or so. Despite the early setbacks the lads kept battling on and they put in a credible 2nd half performance, but they were unable to salvage anything from the game.
DON’T FORGET the San Marino v England game will be LIVE on the TV in the clubhouse immediately after the Stags game.
