Larkhall v AFC Totton Preview
AFC Totton are back in action this week when travel to the West Country to face Larkhall Athletic on Wednesday (7.45pm). The Stags players know that they will have to produce a much improved performance if they are to claim their first win of the season.
Manager Steve Hollicks has some injury doubts as the Stags head west, but he knows that despite this his side are still capable of giving Larkhall a tough game.
The Larks are a decent outfit and they proved it by reaching the final of last season’s Div One (S&W) play offs. They disposed of Evesham 3-0 in the semi-final before bravely going down 3-2 to Stratford Town in the final.
The Larks made several signings over the summer, and it looks very much like they intend to be there or thereabouts again this term. They have had a mixed start to the season, their opening three games has seen them Lose 1-3 at Home to Didcot, Win 5-1 at Bashley and Draw 1-1 at Slimbridge.
The corresponding fixture last season at Plain Ham saw ‘the Larks’ run out 2-0 winners over the Stags. Let’s hope for an improved result for Totton this time out.
