THE BASICS
Salisbury Football Club are based at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium. They were formed in 2015 after the liquidation of Salisbury City FC.
HAVE THEY GENERALLY BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN THE LEAGUE?
Following the clubs re-formation, they were placed in the Wessex League which they won in 2015/16. The club's progress continued and after just two seasons, they managed to gain promotion to the Southern League Premier Division South where they have remained ever since.
HOW DID THEY GET ON LAST SEASON?
The Whites finished 15th last season, winning 14 of their 42 league matches and losing 21, while drawing the other seven. They were knocked out of the FA Cup by Oxford City, going out to a 1-2 defeat at home, while Truro City ended their involvement in the FA Trophy with a single goal.
HAVE AFC TOTTON PLAYED THEM RECENTLY?
The two sides have met on a few occasions in recent years, with The Stags being Salisbury’s first opponents at ‘The Ray Mac’ in 2015. The last few competitive matches between the clubs have seen Salisbury dominate, beating The Stags 3-1 last time out in 2021. Prior to that, Salisbury picked up a 2-0 victory at home in 2019 and another back in 2008, while their heaviest victory came in a 4-0 win with two now former Stags, Tommy Wright (with a hat-trick) and Justin Bennett scoring the goals.
DO WE HAVE COMMON OR FORMER PLAYERS IN COMMON?
There are quite a few players who spring to mind that have played for both clubs: Tommy Wright, Justin Bennett, Eddie Perret, Stuart Green, Charlie Kennedy, Josh Carmichael and Charlie Davis, all of whom have represented both clubs just over the last five years, or so.
WHO IS THEIR CURRENT MANAGER?
Salisbury’s boss is Brian Dutton, who took over from Steve Claridge in October 2022. This will be Dutton’s first full season in charge. He was previously with Walsall as an Assistant Manager, moving up from the position of Head Coach.
