A useful exercise
So our much interrupted 2020/21 season came to an end on Saturday with our exit from the Hampshire Invitational Cup. Whilst we enter every competition with a desire to win it is fair to say that the management team used this tournament with a firm eye on the upcoming season.
We were able to look at some potential new players not only in training but in competitive games alongside working with the existing squad to rebuild fitness and work on our shape for the forthcoming season.
Behind the scenes we have been able to work on the Managers “wish list” and we will be making announcements on new signings shortly. In addition we have spoken to the current squad to agree deals for next season. Again we should be in a position to release our retained list in the next few days.
The short close season will be a busy one at the club. The pitch is being dug up and replaced after the Ex Saints v AFC Totton Sponsors game on 21st May and will be ready for use in mid July in time for our pre season friendlies. Work is ongoing on the changing rooms and other areas of the stadium and discussions are continuing to bring in some new players to add to the squad.
