CONGRATULATIONS TO AFC TOTTON’S U13 JPL side who triumphed against the Chester-based Saughall Colts JFC to claim the PRO Direct Soccer JPL Vase National Cup at Macclesfield’s Moss Rose ground on Saturday, and lift the second piece of silverware in a potential trophy-treble for 2024/25.
Mark Lilley’s team sealed the JPL South Coast Division One title last weekend, when they defeated Poole Town FC Wessex in a double-header on the Snows Stadium pitch, winning the first game 4-1 and the second 4-3, to confirm their unbeaten status throughout a total of 14 league matches.
This past weekend, The Young Bucks made the 424-mile roundtrip to the home of Robbie Savage’s Northern Premier League Premier Division Champions with their eyes set firmly on the prize of the JPL U13s Vase.
Having beaten Millside FC of Basildon via a penalty shoot-out at the Sherfield English Playing Fields in Romsey in the semi-final, AFC Totton U13s held their nerve again to overcome Saughall Colts 5-4 on spot-kicks after 90 minutes of football had resulted in a two-all draw.
So, the treble is on, with Sholing standing in the way of AFC Totton and the Hampshire U13s Cup. The Hampshire FA’s Winklebury Sports Complex in Basingstoke will host the final on Saturday 17 May, kick-off at 10:00am.
