PLAYER BIOGRAPHY
Prolific, proven goalscorer who is now on his third spell at AFC Totton having left fellow Southern League Premier Division South club Poole Town mid-way through the 2023/24 season.
The 28-year-old has maintained an impressive goals record throughout his non-league career, which began at Eastleigh before the first of three spells at Totton, as a loanee in 2015.
Lee also experienced a succession of short-term loans over the subsequent 14 months that took in Gosport Borough, Poole Town, Whitehawk and Cirencester Town, before he returned to Gosport on a free transfer in January 2017. He returned to The Dolphins in the summer, and back to Totton for another loan until the end of the 2017/18 season; he played 32 games under Louis Langdown, scoring 18 goals.
Weymouth signed him on a free transfer in July 2018, but within a month he was on the move again, for a third stint at Gosport Borough. He was with Wimborne Town in 2019/20, before returning to the Tatnam Ground once again, in the summer of 2020, and going on to also represent Havant & Waterlooville and Farnborough as a loanee.
Described on Poole’s website as “a strong, capable and proven goalscorer,” Lee had struck 25 goals in 21 matches in the first half of 2021/22, before a broken collarbone put him out for about six weeks. He returned to end the season with 36 goals, 10 from the penalty spot, which was enough to attract interest from professional clubs Southend United, Yeovil Town and Torquay United, according to reports in the Bournemouth Daily Echo.
Last season, Lee’s goals fired Poole Town into the Southern League Premier Division South Play-Offs; he notched 27 goals (six penalties), including four strikes in The Dolphins’ 6-1 away win at Dorchester Town in April. In 2023/24 to date, he has 19 goals (four penalties) from 29 appearances.
Tony made his third AFC Totton debut in the 1-0 away win at Hayes & Yeading United in February 2024, before scoring a brace in the 4-4 draw with Dorchester Town on his home debut.
