AFC TOTTON confirm their sixth signing of the summer, with central defender, Tyler Cordner, joining from York City on a season-long loan!

The 26-year-old was a part of AFC Bournemouth’s academy set up and during that time had a loan spell at The Stags which was unfortunately cut short due to an injury.

He also had loan spells at two National League clubs Havant & Waterlooville and Ebbsfleet United as well as two in League Two for Scunthorpe United, and Southend United, making a combined 26 appearances in the EFL.

Cordner left Bournemouth on a free transfer in 2021 to join Weymouth of the National League.

He made 45 appearances in all competitions in a season where Weymouth were unable to avoid the drop but, in the summer, Cordner earned a jump back into the National League as he joined Aldershot for the following campaign.

It was at The Shots where Tyler flourished and had a very successful time there, showing his quality.

The centre-back scored nine times in 50 appearances in all comps during the 2022/23 season, won Aldershot’s player of the season award and even captained the England C side for their game against Wales C on the 21st of March 2023, which resulted in a 1-0 win for Wales.

After that impressive season for Aldershot, Tyler joined York City in the summer of 2023 for a six-figure transfer fee where he appeared 28 times, scoring three goals from defence that season.

In June of 2024, the defender made a return to Ebbsfleet on loan for the season in the National League but was unable to save The Fleet from relegation.

The defender joins The Stags for our first ever season in the Enterprise National League South and at just 26, he has huge amounts of experience as he has played 214 times in the National League & League Two!

Welcome to AFC Totton, Tyler!
