AFC Totton are pleased to welcome defender, Jake Grante, to the club on a loan deal until the end of the season!
Since the 6th of December, Jake has been on loan at step-three side, St Albans City, on an initial one-month but was extended after he impressed immediately.
The defender won their player on the month for March as he helped keep three clean sheets in a five-game unbeaten run.
The 20-year-old arrives at The Snows Stadium as an exciting defensive addition, bringing Premier League academy experience and international pedigree to the squad.
Grante, a composed and athletic central defender, has been part of Crystal Palace’s academy setup since the age of nine, steadily progressing through the club’s youth system.
Known for his pace, strength, and confidence in possession, the Irish defender developed into a key figure in Palace’s youth sides. During the 2022/23 campaign, he made 20 appearances for the Under-18s, contributing to five clean sheets and adding two assists from defence.
His performances earned him a first professional contract ahead of the 2023/24 season, marking a major milestone in his development.
Since stepping up to the Under-21 squad, Grante has continued to gain valuable experience in Premier League 2 and cup competitions.
Jake is also a regular in the Republic of Ireland youth setup, having represented his country at Under-16, Under-18 and Under-19 levels.
He has featured in European qualification fixtures and youth internationals, further underlining his potential at both domestic and international level.
