AFC Totton continue their preparations for the 2026/27 National League South season this evening as they welcome an AFC Bournemouth XI to the Snows Stadium.
The two clubs are no strangers, having met on numerous occasions in the Hampshire Senior Cup as well as in pre-season fixtures over the years. Tonight’s encounter provides another opportunity to renew acquaintances as Scott Rendell’s side continue to build fitness, sharpness and momentum ahead of the new campaign.
There remains a strong connection between the two clubs, with Ashley Clarke, Alfie Merritt and Charlie Osborne all making the move from the Cherries to The Stags on loan last season. The relationship stretches back much further, however, with the likes of Tyler Cordner, Jack Simpson, Bailey Cargill, Ben Cooper, Ben Winterburn and Jake Scrimshaw all having represented both clubs during their careers.
Tonight’s fixture offers another valuable test for The Stags, providing further minutes on the pitch as preparations continue for the new season. With just three pre-season fixtures remaining, including this evening’s contest, supporters may begin to see Scott Rendell’s preferred shape and combinations emerge ahead of the National League South opener against Farnham Town on Saturday 8th August.
