DORKING WANDERERS – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

Another one of those teams who were involved in the playoffs last year and that crazy title race, Dorking are currently sat in 11th place on ten points through seven games.

Wanderers started the season off winless through their first two games, drawing to Chippenham Town 2-2 away from home and losing 0-3 in their first home match of the season against Hampton & Richmond.

They finally got on the board with a win at home against Slough Town winning 2-0 but couldn’t carry that form away to Hemel Hempstead as they fell to a 2-0 loss away from home.

Then came back-to-back wins for Dorking first off beating Tonbridge 4-1 and a good away win at Bath City, winning 1-2. In their last match they lost 1-0 but albeit against the high-flying Hornchurch, who sit at the top of the table.

OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO WATCH:

Defender: Brennan Camp

Brennan joined Bournemouth’s youth setup as a seven-year-old. He continued to progress through the academy and in 2019 he signed a professional contract for the club.

He made two first team appearances for the Cherries before several loan
moves concluded with the defender signing a permanent deal with National League side Eastleigh in 2022.

Brennan was one of Marc’s four summer signings ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, joining from the Spitfires.

Last season he played 29 games in the National League South, including the playoffs, scoring seven goals from defence.

MIDFIELD: CHARLIE CARTER

Central midfielder Charlie’s footballing journey began at Fulham and then across the county at Woking, where after coming through the club’s academy he signed a professional deal with The Cardinals ahead of the 2016/17 season.

It was the following campaign, 2017/18, which proved to be the breakout year for Charlie as he finished the season club top scorer, earning a move to Chesterfield and from there a transfer into the Football League with Stevenage.

After three seasons at The Lamex Stadium, Charlie enjoyed a consistent season with Eastleigh in 2022/23, again demonstrating his ability as a goal-scoring midfielder by finishing the season with double-figures worth of goals.

Returning to his native Surrey, Charlie signed for Wanderers in October 2023. Charlie was named club captain ahead of the 2024/25 season.

In the NLS last season, Charlie played in 39 games including the playoff fixture, scoring 14 goals and getting four assists from midfield.

ATTACK: ALFIE RUTHERFORD

One of four signings ahead of the 2020/21 season, Alfie became a fans favourite since signing for the Wanderers.

Signed from Havant & Waterlooville, Alfie renewed his prolific partnership with Jason Prior.

Alfie has a wealth of experience having played in the National League with Havant and Waterlooville for two seasons as well as finishing winner of the National League South Golden Boot with 30 goals in
Wanderers promotion season.

Despite recently recovering from heart and knee surgery Alfie remains prolific in front of goal and is a key player in the Wanderers squad.
