We are delighted to announce we have officially signed Ryan Pennery! Writes Jack Clarkson.
The newly signed prolific striker has spent his most recent time at Moneyfields FC & Gosport Borough. In a struggling Gosport side, Ryan previously came very close to securing himself the golden boot in the Southern Premier. He has proved himself to be quite the striker, in the 2016/17 season he managed to bag himself 48 goals for Baffins Milton Rovers in the Sydenhams Wessex Premier League. He has always been a consistent goal scorer and hopefully he can do the same for the Stags.
In his first interview he expressed his delight with signing for the club, saying ‘the pitch is unbelievable, there aren’t many like this, I just can’t wait to get going’. ‘I know the club are wanting to go places, wanting to get promoted into the Southern Prem’.
Unfortunately, in January 2020, Ryan suffered a serious injury whilst blocking the ball. He suffered a knee injury which needed ACL reconstruction rehabilitation. Ryan and the club are hopeful he will be back to his best come November/December time.
Ryan is joined by newly signed players, Jordan Ngalo, Ade Olumuyiwa, Jack Hoey, Ben Jefford, Callum Baughan, Jacob Woods and is the 7th Stags signing for the upcoming season.
