PLAYER BIOGRAPHY

At 26 years old, Tyler brings a wealth of experience from the National League and Football League, with over 200 senior appearances to his name.

Tyler began his football journey in the AFC Bournemouth academy. Although he didn’t make a senior appearance for the Cherries, he gained valuable first-team experience through loan spells at Havant & Waterlooville and Ebbsfleet United in the National League, where he quickly developed a reputation as a commanding presence at the heart of the defence.

His performances earned him opportunities in League Two with Scunthorpe United and Southend United, where he continued to grow his game and gain crucial experience at a professional level. In 2021, he joined Weymouth on a permanent deal and became a key figure, making 45 appearances and scoring three goals during a standout season.

Tyler’s next move was to Aldershot Town in the summer of 2022, where he enjoyed arguably the most successful spell of his career to date. Over the 2022–23 campaign, he played 50 matches, scored nine goals, and was named the club’s Player of the Season. His leadership qualities were further recognised when he captained the England C team in a win over Wales C in March 2023.

In July 2023, Tyler was signed by York City for an undisclosed six-figure fee. He played 28 games and scored three goals in his first season, but after a loan move to Ebbsfleet United in 2024, he found himself battling to help the club avoid relegation, making 16 appearances and scoring once. Despite the team's struggles, Tyler remained a consistent and reliable performer.

Now joining AFC Totton on loan, Tyler arrives with a strong reputation as a reliable centre-back who excels in aerial duels, communicates well from the back, and poses a real threat from set pieces. His leadership, experience, and composure will be invaluable as the Stags prepare for their first-ever campaign in the National League South. With his track record, both defensively and offensively, Tyler Cordner is set to play a key role in helping the club compete at this new level.
