STAGS ADVANCE TO SOUTHAMPTON SENIOR CUP FINAL
AFC Totton continued their defence of the Southampton Divisional Senior Cup with a 1-0 win over Hamble Club.
In a game short on chances and quality, the decisive actions came early on. Matty Burrows won a tenth minute penalty for Totton, but Henry Newman was equal to his spot-kick to keep the scores level. BURROWS would have the last laugh a few minutes later, however, latching on to a long ball before stabbing a shot over and beyond Newman for the game’s only goal.
From there the Stags managed the game, and although the Monks were able to create some pressure late on through a series of set pieces, Totton held on to advance to the final at St. Mary’s.
