DEC ROSE SIGNS NEW AFC TOTTON DEAL

AFC Totton are delighted to announce that Declan Rose has signed a new deal with the club, extending his stay at the Snows Stadium after establishing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet over the past two seasons.

The 24-year-old has become a key figure in the Stags squad since arriving from Poole Town, earning a reputation for his consistency, versatility and professionalism. Predominantly a right-back, Rose is equally comfortable stepping into midfield, giving the management team quality and flexibility whenever called upon.

After joining AFC Totton on 1 July 2024, Rose made his competitive debut in the 1-0 home victory over Walton & Hersham on 10 August, producing an assured display as the Stags battled for more than half the match with 10 men.

Since then, he has gone from strength to strength in a Totton shirt. During the 2025/26 campaign, Rose played more minutes than any other player in the squad, underlining both his durability and importance to the side. His performances throughout the season also saw him recognised by his teammates, receiving the Players' Player of the Season award in acknowledgement of his outstanding contribution.

Comfortable in possession and relentless in his work rate, Rose has become a fan favourite through his willingness to get forward, defensive reliability and ability to adapt to different roles when required.

Before arriving at the Snows Stadium, Rose came through the academy systems at AFC Bournemouth and Yeovil Town. Initially developing as a centre-back, he made his senior debut for the Glovers in an FA Trophy victory over Hampton & Richmond Borough in January 2020 before joining Poole Town in 2021.

At Poole, he featured across every defensive position before making the right-back role his own, making 137 appearances and scoring four goals while helping the Dolphins lift back-to-back Dorset Senior Cups.

Now firmly established as an integral member of the AFC Totton squad, Rose's new deal is another positive step as the club continues to build for the future.
