CHESHAM UNITED – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:
So far this season, The Generals are in 10th place on 43 points from 28 games. CLICK HERE to see how the league table shapes up.
To start this campaign, Chesham had a great start, winning two and drawing two in their first four games of the season. However, to round off August they unfortunately had back-to-back losses which left them in mid-table.
Starting off September Chesham travelled to The Snows Stadium and drew with us 1-1, which they followed up with another draw, this time at home to Bath City. United were then knocked out of the FA Cup in the second qualifying round, losing 1-4 to Kings Lynn, and they finished September with a 1-0 loss away at Weston-super-Mare.
October started well for our opposition tomorrow, as they went four games unbeaten, winning three, including one in the Berks & Barks senior cup, and a draw away against Maidstone. A loss at home against high-flying Worthing halted that unbeaten run, but Chesham did finish October with a 1-2 away win against Eastbourne.
They carried that into November with a 2-1 win against Chippenham and a 1-1 draw away at the then-league leaders Hornchurch. But, despite those good results, Chesham were then subject to four consecutive losses, three coming in the league and a loss to AFC Telford in the FA Trophy. They got a good home win (2-1) against Dorking to end the month and stop that rot however.
December saw an inconsistent month for The Generals, seeing two wins and two losses in the league. The two losses coming against Dover at the start of the month and away at Slough at the end of the month, sandwiched in between however were two good wins against playoff opposition in Horsham away and Hemel Hempstead at home.
In January Chesham played four games and managed to go unbeaten in all four, picking up three wins, all away from home and one draw which was a 1-1 game against Maidenhead at home.

OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO WATCH:
GOALIE/DEFENCE: BEN GOODE
Ben Goode is an experienced goalkeeper who returned to The Meadow in the 2024/25 summer for his third spell with the club, requiring little introduction to supporters ahead of the Generals’ debut National League South campaign.
Ben first signed for the Generals almost six years ago, becoming JD & Muzza’s first signing after arriving from Potters Bar Town. During his initial spell, he established himself as a reliable presence between the posts, making 62 appearances before departing at the end of the curtailed 2020/21 season.
He briefly returned for a one-off appearance at the end of the 2022/23 season, starting in the play-off semi-final defeat away at Bracknell Town, before rejoining the club permanently ahead of the following campaign.
Ben began his senior career with AFC Hayes, before moving on to Hadley FC and later Potters Bar Town, where he first worked under JD & Muzza and built a strong reputation at step three.
Following his departure from the Meadow in 2021, Ben joined Wingate & Finchley in the Isthmian Premier Division. During his time there, he became an ever-present in goal, was appointed club captain, and memorably scored a dramatic added-time equaliser in a 4–3 victory over Bowers & Pitsea.
MIDFIELD: ALEX BABOS
A hard-working and creative central midfielder, Alex Babos joined the club in June 2025 after an impressive season as a regular starter with Hereford.
Babos was a creative spark for the Bulls during his time in Herefordshire, recording 22 goal contributions in his first season at Edgar Street. He finished the campaign as Hereford’s top assister and second in the race for the club’s Golden Boot, underlining his influence from midfield.
Alex began his career at Derby County, where he progressed through the academy and earned a professional contract in 2016. During his time with the Rams, he gained valuable senior experience through loan spells with Spanish side Real Unión and FC United of Manchester, while also featuring regularly for Derby’s Under-23s.
A Wales Under-21 international, Babos later went on to represent Alfreton Town, King’s Lynn Town and Banbury United, building extensive experience across non-league football.
So far this season, Alex has scored four goals and has been a key player in the midfield cog of Chesham United.
ATTACK: Mitchell Weiss
Mitchell Weiss joined the club in the summer of 2024 from fellow National League South side St Albans City, where he had established himself as a firm fans’ favourite during a four-season spell at Clarence Park.
He finished his time with the Saints in impressive form during the 2023/24 season, scoring 14 goals and providing 12 assists, highlighting his value as a hard-working and effective forward. Mitch carried that form into his debut season at the club, where his consistent performances earned him the Manager’s Player of the Season award.
Prior to his spell at St Albans City, Mitchell enjoyed a prolific campaign with Kings Langley, scoring an outstanding 41 goals in a single season. He has also featured for Hemel Hempstead Town in the National League South and Hayes & Yeading United, gaining experience across multiple levels of the non-league pyramid.
Mitch signed for St Albans City in August 2020 and went on to make 159 appearances for the club. During his time in Hertfordshire, he played a key role in the Saints’ runs to the FA Cup First Round and the National League South play-off final, further cementing his reputation as a dependable and industrious striker.
