The Stags return to league action this evening, with the visit of Maidenhead United to The Snows Stadium!

Last time out Totton’s FA Cup run came to an end at the hands of Macclesfield FC. Read the match report from that game by clicking here.

MAIDENHEAD UNITED – THEIR SEASON SO FAR:

Currently, The Magpies are sat in 11th place in the league thus far, winning 21 points through 14 league games.

After relegation in the last campaign from the National league, Maidenhead started off life in the ENLS with a home loss against Chesham. They did remain winless in their next three games, drawing two against Enfield Town and Hemel Hempstead and losing to Weston-super-Mare.

But, they managed to get their first win on bank holiday Monday in August, with a 2-1 home win against Horsham and they rounded off August with a 1-2 away win against Dover.

Another two league wins on the spin saw a 0-4 battering of Bath and a 2-1 win against Chelmsford saw them enter the FA Cup in very good form. Their match in the second qualifying round was against Kent outfit, Faversham Town, residing in step four, and the Magpies were involved in a cupset, losing 0-1 at home.

However, that result didn’t affect their league form as they went back to winning their next two games against Maidstone & Worthing, as well as after beating AFC Aldermaston in the Berks and Bucks Senior Cup second round.

Form of late though hasn’t been so great, taking them from one of the most in-form sides in the league to one of the worst, going winless in their last four, which included three losses and one draw.

MY OPPOSITION PLAYERS TO WATCH:

DEFENCE: Ryan Bartley

Bartley joined Maidenhead in the summer of 2025, bolstering Dev's defensive ranks.

The young defender came through the ranks at Crystal Palace's academy, representing them up to U21 level.

A half-season loan spell at Eastbourne followed before moving to Derby County to link up with their U21 squad.

Last season, Bartley played a handful of games for Spennymoor Town and Hereford as part of emergency loans.

He would return to Derby to represent them in the PL2 before spending the remainder of the season at Gateshead.

MIDFIELD: Kane Ferdinand

Ferdinand joined United in June 2021, making him one of the longest serving players in the current squad.

Kane was awarded the Manager's Player of the Season by Alan Devonshire in 2022/23. He came through the ranks at Southend United and made his debut in 2011, at just 19 years old in the EFL League Two against Oxford United.

The following season he played 45 times, scoring seven and helping The Shrimpers reach the League Two play-offs.

Those performances earned him a move to Peterborough United where he made 33 EFL Championship appearances.

His career would then see him take loan spells at Northampton Town, Luton Town and Cheltenham Town. As his time at Peterborough drew to a close, he moved to Dagenham and Redbridge where he'd stay for just short of a season and play 15 times.

Ferdinand followed this with a move to East Thurrock United, a short but successful stint that earned him a move to Woking.

He spent five years in Surrey collating 162 appearances and 15 goals, including earning them promotion back to the National League in 2019.

ATTACK: Josh Popoola

Josh Popoola joined Maidenhead after a successful trial period during the summer of 2025.

The versatile, young talent spent time at Watford and Bournemouth during his youth career before seeking senior football in the National League system. Popoola spent time at Hitchin Town and Cheshunt before making a move to link up with Stockport County’s Academy.

Upon arrival, he sought senior football again going on loan Spennymoor Town, Chorley and Warrington featuring 16 times across these temporary spells.

He then made a move to Tonbridge Angels where he appeared six time before enjoying a productive stay at Buxton FC for the 2024/25 season, playing 37 times, scoring 4 and assisting 8.
