After an unexpectedly tumultuous week for the Stags, the AFC Totton Board has reacted quickly to secure the services of two of the Club’s prized assets in striker Shaquille Gwengwe and versatile wide man Jordan Ragguette, signing both talented youngsters to new contracts.
Shaquille and Jordan, who are both 20-years-old, are long-term friends, having attended Portsmouth College together where they played under the Stags’ Interim 1st Team Manager Dan Sackman in the college football team.
They both still live in the Portsmouth area from where they and midfielder Jordan Ngalo travel the M27 together to attend training and on matchdays.
“No, I’m not their chauffeur – I’m the Boss,” jokes Shaq. “I drive them and they pay me!”
Standing on the sidelines during the 1st Team’s regular training session due to a recent hamstring injury, the free-scoring striker is itching to get back into action.
“I actually miss training. I love it. I even celebrate goals and I really hate to be on the losing side, even in small-sided warm-up games.”

In the mild drizzle of a Tottonian Tuesday night, Jordan Ragguette is not quite as jovial as Shaq, understandably so having just taken part in a short but rigorous session. But like his mate, he’s motivated by a burning ambition to succeed.
“We’ve all put in a lot of hard work already this season and got ourselves into a good position,” he says. “We want it all – trophies, titles, the lot.”
Director of Football, Sam Davies is delighted to get these deals done.
“They’re a great pair of lads, really strongly bonded to one another,” he enthuses. “And they’re also terrific assets to the football club – so it’s been a good day, today.”
