AFC Totton eight game unbeaten run at home came to an end after a 3-0 defeat with Worthing at the Snows Stadium.

The Stags, who last lost in Hampshire in November, fell behind to Teddy Jenks low strike before Wiktor Makowski made it two ten minutes after the break.

Jenks wrapped up the points on the hour, sliding the ball under Ryan Gosney, who denied the visitors on numerous occasions.

Gosney was forced into action in the early stages, the Totton goalkeeper thwarting low efforts from Jack Young and Wiktor Makowski.

The 34-year-old also denied Remiero Moulton before Makowski failed to convert the rebound.

Stags' top scorer Tony Lee looked destined to open the scoring when he met Vaughen Covil’s cross, however headed over.

The hosts spurned a golden chance when a clever one-two between Jacob Towns and Craig Tanner found an unmarked Covil, who fired over.

However, it was the West Sussex side who broke the deadlock after Jenks' low effort found the bottom left corner before the break.

Adam Hinshelwood’s side dominated after the break and were rewarded with a second after Sam Beard’s cross found Makowski to head home.

The visitors went close to extending the lead first through Jenks, who fired wide before Joseph Cook smashed over on the hour.

The former then made it three after being released by Moulton before sliding the ball under Gosney for his tenth of the season.

Highflyers Worthing were denied a fourth by the impressive Gosney denying both Moulton and second half substitute Callum Morton.

National League South top scorer Brad Dolaghan raced clear but was thwarted by the Stags shotstopper.

While former Queens Park midfielder Jack Spong also had an effort pushed away in a flurry of late chances for the Rebels.

The hosts had a late penalty shout waved away after Malachi Linton had looked to be barged in the back to conclude an difficult afternoon .

The Stags travel to Maidstone United next Saturday looking to bounce back.
